CPT AGS Thinning
Reduce SCPT data volume in AGS files while preserving stratigraphy.
What this tool does
Reduces the data volume of SCPT records inside AGS 4.0 files using Douglas–Peucker line simplification with local min/max locking. Stratigraphy and exact channel peaks (qc, fs, u2) are preserved while the point count — and file size — drop substantially. Every non-SCPT group (LOCA, PROJ, …) and every SCPT column on retained rows is passed through unchanged.
Presets
- Conservative — Highest fidelity (~30-35% reduction); keeps fine detail, best for liquefaction / thin-layer analysis. (qc 0.1 MPa, fs 5.0 kPa, u2 8.0 kPa)
- Standard — Recommended default (~35-45% reduction); preserves all stratigraphy. (qc 0.2 MPa, fs 10.0 kPa, u2 15.0 kPa)
- Aggressive — Smallest file size (~40-55% reduction); good for data warehousing / web platforms / overview use. (qc 0.35 MPa, fs 20.0 kPa, u2 30.0 kPa)
